Dawgs of Texas

Dawgsntexas was started in 2003 by a bunch of 3rd and 4th graders that wanted to turn their city into a no-kill community. Six-months later Dawgs was succesful in saving the dogs and cats that for generations had be euthanized. Since 2003, Dawgs has rescued over 6700 companion animals from abusive conditionss and life-threatening situations. We have adopted almost 6000 dogs at our shelter and through off-site adoptions. In 2011 Dawgs was number 9 out of 1200 Petco stores through-out the United States in adopting dogs and cats during adoption events in their stores. We currently have over 700 animals at our shelter in Dalhart, Texas. We are currently raising funds to purchase and operate a spay/ neuter mobile clinic to perform low cost/ no-cost surgeries in the rural part of the Panhandle of Texas.
